CIO, EVP, and fintech founder with a 30-year track record scaling engineering organisations, modernising core banking platforms, and translating deep technical strategy into commercial outcomes — across 10 international banking entities.
I started as a software engineer and spent three decades working my way to the top of banking technology — not through management ladders, but by building things that actually worked. Core banking systems. Digital platforms. Engineering organisations. All from scratch, all at scale, all in highly regulated European and international markets.
At Nexent Bank I spent 17 years as Global Head of IT and CIO, leading 200+ engineers across 10 entities through one of the most ambitious technology transformations in European banking — migrating legacy cores to cloud-native platforms, rolling out AI-native tooling, and building a DevSecOps culture that compressed deployment cycles from months to daily releases.
Before that, I founded IBTECH — the fintech company that became the technology backbone of one of Turkey's largest banks — and successfully exited through integration into QNB. I know what it means to build for scale, and to build to last.
Now I am bringing that operator perspective to the platform and advisory side of the industry — helping banking technology companies translate their product vision into commercial reality, and helping banks navigate what comes next.
Three decades leave a trail of platforms, teams, and transformations. Here are the initiatives that defined my career — and the outcomes that made them matter.
Designed, built, and operated a cloud-native, multi-tenant core banking and digital banking platform from the ground up — supporting retail, corporate, and trade finance banking across 10 international entities. 1,000+ UI screens, multi-currency, multi-language, multi-timezone in a single runtime. The platform that replaced 10 separate legacy systems.
Led enterprise-wide transformation from waterfall delivery to a fully automated DevSecOps pipeline with CI/CD, automated testing, and daily production deployments — compressing release cycles from months to days across 200+ engineers.
Founded IBTECH as the technology arm of Finansbank A.S. — built the engineering team from zero, delivered core banking and internet banking solutions, scaled operations across 10 entities, and completed a successful exit through full integration into QNB (Qatar National Bank).
Designed and built one of the first Java-based core banking platforms in the industry — a modular, service-oriented, high-availability architecture that now serves 20+ international banks. Built on principles that still define modern banking architecture: no business logic on database or client, full application-server orchestration, XML-based thin client.
Whether you're building a banking technology platform, navigating a transformation, or looking for a strategic partner who has been on both sides — I would welcome a direct conversation.
